Where we are based in Romania
Brasov
Our Romania volunteer opportunities and the Projects Abroad Romania offices are based in Brasov.
Located in central Romania, this historic town is surrounded by lush greenery, and the rolling hills and peaks of the Carpathian Mountains. Home to spectacular gothic and medieval architecture and historical sites, Brasov is also located near a ski resort and several castles.
Make the most of living with a local host family, share traditions and stories, and we encourage you to try some of the delicious traditional food they cook. Eat foods like sarmale (meat, rice, and herbs wrapped in cabbage) and plăcinte cu brânză dulce (fried dough filled with sweet cheese and sprinkled with powdered sugar).
